Because of your age it will be important for you to get as many quotes as possible.

One of the easiest ways in to go to in their auto insurance section you will find several direct links to free on line auto insurance quoting services.

By taking time and requesting quotes from each of these services you will receive the best quotes from hundreds of insurance companies.

Also I would suggest taking time to read some of their free articles that help you save money.

After reading one of their articles I was able save $327.00 per year.

Use moneysupermarket.com.

I would suggest other cars in this class would be Ford Ka, Peugeot 106, Ford Fiesta, Citroen C1/C2, Toyota Aygo, Peugeot 107, Nissan Micra, VW Polo, VW Fox, Seat Ibiza, Fiat Panda, Renault Twingo/Clio... I could go on.

The best advice I can give is to find a car under 1100cc, 5 door hatchback with lower spec levels, pretty common on the road and no alloys/bodykit accessories. This should see you bring the insurance down to under £1000 for a year. (Also if you live in a good postcode with off-street parking preferably a garage, no criminal convictions or claims made by any member of your household then you'll get an even better deal!)

Good Luck.

State Farm. Both my husband and I have 2 year old vehicles with full coverage and we don't pay more than $55 a month for each vehicle. State Farm is a reputable company. Also driver's education courses can help you lower what you pay monthly in insurance.

If you are looking for an excellent DSLR, I must agree that Canons and Nikons are top of the line. However, I humbly suggest that you are not looking for a Canon (except maybe one) or a Nikon, as the controls would likely confuse, and the price would likely depress.

The cameras I would suggest to you are the Canon Rebel XT, and the Pentax K-100D. Both are comparable in price, features, and simplicity. Both also come with kit lenses (good thing because good lenses are costly).

I use.

I have a Yaris and I currently pay £850. A new driver would pay at least £900 for their insurance whatever car they have.

I'd avoid French cars (the peugeot, citroen and renault), they are known for poor reliabilty so you'll spend a lot of money fixing things when they go wrong.

Without being bias, Yaris' are great, I get at least 45mpg if not more, they're pretty nippy, known for their reliability, as are other Toyotas and Nissans.

Vauxhall Corsas aren't that economical, but they are fairly cheap and parts are readily available if anything does go wrong.

There aren't any cheap wired to wireless adapters. The cheapest run about $40-$50 new ($35 used/refurbished) but they are 802.11b only (Linksys WGA11B Wireless-B Game Adapter)

All the cheap ones are USB (which as you know are useless for you). If you can't find a cheap one on ebay or such, and you are are technically minded you could purchase a used router and update the firmware with DD-WRT. This will let you set the router up as a bridge (client mode wireless). You can usually pick up a compatible router for less than $20.

For car insurance the quick way to get a very good quote is do a policy comparison on car policies. Make sure that you choose similar policies with the same deductibles, auto model, zip code, etc so that all options are a good comparison.

What I usually recommend is an online comparison quote at since they have top name insurers and can give multiple quotes on auto insurance polices.

No one camera is better at what you've listed. It all depends on the lenses that you use. You could have a $5000 DSLR, and a crappy kit lens, and come out with poor images.
Some top rated DSLR's with idiot modes(Auto modes) are such as the Canon Digital Rebel XTi, the Nikon D40, or D40x, the Olympus E-410, or the Pentax K100D. All of these are cheap, price wise, but are still really good.
As for lenses, you'll have to look at what you want the most; such as close-ups, wide angle, or zooms. These will probably be more expensive or sometimes two to three times more expensive than the camera itself. But, they will outlast the camera by years.

You could, but be careful because most food processors have a open column in the middle, which could allow some of the liquid to spill out. But if you are careful, it would work in a pinch

I would recommend a 35mm film SLR. I own a Canon AE-1 and I love it! It's an older camera, but the technology, as far as film cameras go, is still there. You can pick one up for a fairly cheap price. I bought mine for $150, so about 75 pounds.I bought it on ebay, which yes, it is risky, but I received 3 lenses and a case as well as the camera body and a flash. The camera is flawless and I would highly recommend it to ANYONE! There are a ton of these cameras available on ebay, so just look into them and don't be afraid to ask questions from the seller. I enjoy film because it requires you to make every shot count. You wont just snap pictures aimlessly, but instead will look for the best possible way to use your film to its full extent.

you're better off getting a wireless router because if you have a laptop then you can get online wirelessly too. a wireless router can be as cheap as 29.99. i'm looking at the Sunday adds and Best Buy has the best deals this week.

Dynex - 29.99 or 39.99 for an Enhanced g Router

Netgear - 39.99 or 59.99 for Super g Wireless Router

D-Link 49.99 or 79.99 Range Booster

Linksys - 59.99 or 69.99 RangePlus Enhanced Wireless Router

I personally have a Linksys Router with SpeedBooster. There was a sale on it for 49.99 when i bought it 6 months ago. I love it. I never lose connection like others when play SSBB. I have 2 desktops so I got a compatible adapter for one and the other is hooked directly into the router. I also have a laptop that I use anywhere in the house. My wii and ps3 never lose internet connection when playing games. I'm happy with everything.

My in-laws have D-Link wireless router and they don't have a problem with internet access. Just remember to get the protection plan on it so that if anything goes wrong it's covered.

Other than that, definietly go with the wireless router.

Happy game playing!

A film SLR would be the best option for you, especially since you'd be using it for class. You can pick up a professional's backup SLR off of KEH.com or BH Photo for cheap. A lens would have to be added on, but once again, you can find something on either site for cheap. The total would be under your price limit.

Buying on-line is good - but don't get bit by shipping costs. I'd recommend Costco or Sam's club - good prices and excellent return policies. Warehouse type stores usually have great prices... sometimes Sears or other dept. stores will have TVs (LCDs) on clearance, too. Do your homework - look up LCDs on Consumer Reports to KNOW what you're buying (what to look for, what brands are the best, etc.). Don't buy a TV just because it's inexpensive... try to get the best TV for a great price.

to get a book rated you mail it to them. on their web site they have instructions on the best way to do this. since it's one company that does the rating there is really no cheap way of doing it. I would watch out for paying high prices for autographs. some people look at autographs as defacing a comic, believe it or not. The down side to rating a book is that you can never read it again, b/c the way it is sealed. I hope this helps.http://www.cgccomics.com/

See this take the quote, they'll come back with prices from different insurers in your area. It's very quick and free of charge.
But to find a cheap price you should get several quotes, do some legwork till something better will come along.
Here's more from my bookmarks

Sorry to hear about your blender. I make smoothies in my blender and have never had a problem with it. (That's the only thing I make in my blender though.)

You can use your food processor, but its probably overkill. I'm not sure if I'd toss ice in there, though - but that's just me. If you use frozen fruit in lieu of ice, you should be fine.

Actually, your question would have better been served by asking for the best in the price range you are seeking (£200) rather than using 'cheapest' as a descriptive adjective in the same question but I get your point... others didn't.

You don't have to buy new so ebay is a good way to go and I think you will find that you can grab up some really good deals in the price range you are seeking.

In the older cameras however, there are only three that I would highly recommend for ease of use, quality of output (you get out what you put in of course) and durability of operation.

Nikon being the first followed by Pentax and Minolta.

I won't bother to tell you the models, you can find that out on Ebay just by finding those manufactures in your price range.

No good answer for you really.

When you start looking at DSLR's you are in the arena of the pros and as we all know we are all rocket scientists (well very in control of the technical aspects of producing images).

ANY SLR or DSLR can be used in the manual mode and you can be a rockette to do that.

Outdoor or not, all the pros use Nikon's and Canons.

Your subjects will probably be best served using a macro lens and a good medium zoom lens (24-85mm is a good range)

All that said, you will be much ahead if you take the time to take a few photo classes at your local community college and learn to compose, expose, develop and print your images.

With the sale still going on, you may find a good 42 lcd for around £500. Bit it would be better to spend a bit more for a 1080p full hd set. Why not waiy till the summer sales, when you may get a good deal then, as all the top sporting events will be on,, Olympics etrc.. that always gget preople buying new set and all the shop will be after your money.. and you will probely get a good set cheaper then. I have noticed a huge differance in tv over the last year, in type and price. so if you want to have a good upto date set cheaper. l would wait just a litte longer

Either Nightmare on Elm Street or Hellraiser.

I can't decide. I prefer Freddy to Pinhead, but only barely. If I had to pick, it would be NOES, but Hellraiser is just, so wonderful, and both films changed the genre so much, and were so important (and still are)

the best brand of shampoo and conditioner that i have used ( and my friends) is DOVE. it is really moisturising and gives a sleek and shiny finish.

though many have said that itz pantene, i think pantene causes hairfall and makes ur hair brittle.

Look for a good used Nikon or Canon 35 mm SLR with standard zoom lens for under £100 at perhaps one the schools bulletin board.
Samples of the kind of cameras to look for:

Basically any good used Nikon or Canon 35 mm SLR that is 15 years old or less. Look for dings on the pentaprism, finger prints on the mirror or lenses that are not protected by a UV or skylight filter.

I have a Canon SD900 point and shoot as my pocket camera. I shopped for about 6 months for this camera, as I wanted the absolute best overall image quality possible in a point and shoot camera. If I take pictures at a family gathering, for instance, everyone simply expects my pictures to be the best and I would not settle for less than the best. There are only a handful of PS cameras in the same class as the SD900, in my opinion.

However...

We own 3 different DSLR's and there is simply no comparison.

See: Click on All sizes and then original. Or, just go directly here: The difference in image quality is almost mind boggling. Leaves and trees are about the most detailed subjects you can find, so they are always a challenge for a camera - film or digital - to reproduce accurately.

AND - the D200 was used with matrix metering on P or Program mode, which is the closest thing the D200 has to AUTO. I don't recall for the SD900, but it was probably on manual mode so I could access ISO 80 for best image quality.

I do many miles with 2-3 bodies with me as hand luggage.

Contrary to the above poster, don't remove the battery. Sometimes - not often, a TSA agent will ask to actuate the shutter to ensure the camera can.

With the current set of guidelines a DSLR may be taken on board. Xray does not damage a modern DSLR sensor. It may be that you will find that your equipment may be swabbed for explosives, but that is an additional 3-4 mins on a regular bag search - and routine.

Do not put expensive equipment in your checked luggage. A short while back people were talking of a $50 5D sold by dodgy baggage handlers in Florida

The only real concern might be the size and weight of the bags - to be compliant with airline regulations - not really of interest to a TSA agent.

The Flying with Fish (link in the above link) is another useful read for flying photographers too.

What you want, doesn't exist.

You can either get one with poor picture quality, poor sound quality and poor build quality for £500.

Or, you can spend a bit more money and get something decent.

That is your choice...

This is something you should have a pro show you. Take it to any good camera shop and they will usually have a service for cleaning your camera for you. Ask them to show you. If they do it multiple times a day with multiple different cameras they are going to know all the ins and outs. Besides the piece of mind of seeing how to do it with your very own camera will be worth the $20 or what ever it costs.

You need to shop around. Every insurance company classifies policyholders differently and only by shopping around will you find the company where you fall in the best or cheapest class according to the coverage you are looking for. Of course, it goes without saying that the less coverage you take and the higher the deductible you accept, the less expensive the policuy is going to be.

A couple of good places to start are (insurance information instute) and - both answer many questions about car insurance and the latter also provides links to get free online quotes.

Generic answer is:
1. Set the camera on a tripod. I have done hand held shots, but the results are a bit iffy. The wiggle in a hand-held shot is instructive as it shows that a lightning strike is composed of many flashes.

2. Open the shutter, wait for lightning stroke, close the shutter.

3. As for camera settings, I have found that f11 works well when shooting at ISO 100. You may need to play with the lens opening to get things looking right.

4. Use a wide angle zoom setting (12 to 18mm) unless the storm is far away. You don't know exactly where the bolt(s) will strike.

5. Manual focus to infinity.

6. Post editing: Use a photo editor and adjust the image levels to bring out the detail of the stroke. There are lots of dim events in a lightning stroke which add to the beauty of the event. If you use raw mode, you can post process the image to your liking.

Use the Bulb setting. It will keep your shutter open for as long as you press the shutter release button. After the stroke of lightning, release the shutter release button. If a stroke of lightning doesn't occur within a minute, release the shutter button and start anew. Keeping the shutter open for a long time will give you excess background noise and sometimes a purple fringe on the image. If you have excess city lights, it will fog your exposure.

You need to disable the flash. That shouldn't be a problem since you need to set your camera in manual mode to do the above.

SUMEET food processors are good and have the attachmnets you want. For a juicer i use a PHILIPS make. Both have lasted me for 6 years without any problem. You have to be careful while fitting the jar on though before turning it on. If not well fitted, it can break the rubber base.

It's not true but...

One of the biggest problems with taking photos is a lack of sharpness of subjects. Digital point and shoots have physically smaller sensors than SLRs, which helps to increase depth of field (the area in focus). In other words, at the same settings, the point and shoot is more likely to have more area in focus and this often helps people who are not good at taking photos, particularly family photos with groups of people or vacation photos with objects in the foreground and background that they want to be sharp.

In terms of exposure, digital SLRs are actually better because they have more sophisticated metering systems, which are more accurate whether the SLR is used in Auto, manual or other modes.

A digital SLR has far more advantages making it the better choice to get better photos. However, to get the same depth of field as a point and shoot, you'll have to change the aperture to get more depth of field, which requires a bit of photographic skill and knowledge. Essentially though, it's the increased depth of field which makes point and shoots attractive to people who are not very skilled at taking sharp photos. However, for a skilled photographer, having control over the depth of field is very important.

In any case, there's no truth to the statement about the assumptions for compact cameras and SLRs. It's simply an issue of physics.

I have a Canon 5D and have gone thru this process a number of times. Its not difficult - just time consuming. I use the eclipse 2 solution with the sensor swab - they'll probably have the right size for your sensor. They are quite expensive, but I honestly can't find anything better.

One tip. Before you use any type of solution or swab, get yourself a good foot blower (much, much better than the hand rocket blowers). Lock up your mirror and have at it. I find that this actually works a good percentage of the time without having to use solution. Afterwards, take a picture of something white at F22 or F32 and this will show you how clean your sensor is.

Good luck!

Cleaning a sensor can be a dangerous thing. The only safe way to do it is to lock the mirror in the up position and then with a little squeeze bulb, gently blow air across the sensor a few times and then check by shooting a photo of a clean blank wall. Repeat until you don't have any more dust on the sensor

the products are all at low prices, because they directly come from Chinese factories.

If you use shutter priority (TV), you may inadvertently underexpose your images, if there is insufficient light- as there almost always is in most gyms. I like aperture priority with a higher ISO (800 or above), if you aren't using any flash. With a fast, 2.8 lens, and the aperture set wide open, the camera will select the fastest shutter speed possible. If it's faster than 250th of a second and you want greater depth of field, or less digital noise, either select a slightly smaller aperture or a lower ISO.

im not gonna say dont get the 40 gig, however i did and after like 3 weeks it stopped reading discs. i brought it back got a new one and then heard about all the problems others were having with the 40 gig. also to my disgust i found out that for some reason the 40 gig dosnt play the 20 plus PS2 games i have collected through the years. That was the final straw, so i brought it back and after i signed up for some stupid target credit card which gives 10% off everything you buy i bought the 80 gig. no problems yet with it either. i mean after the 10 percent off i only paid like 50 or 60 bucks more and got double the hard drive space and the backwards compatibility. it also comes with a game, not one that i would buy normally but still. Its a better deal to get the 80 gig. just save up a lil more but itll be worth it. unless you dont care about hard drive space or backward compatibility or if u really want spider man3 on bluray...

Other folks have mentioned using higher ISO and higher shutter speed.

Depends on where you are going to sit, I would bring EF 85mm f/1.8, 100mm f/2 or 135mm f/2 L if possible. 70-200mm f/2.8 IS L is also a good choice.

Drug store brand: Pantene has had an excellent reputation for at least 10 years that I know of.

Salon: Alterna and Pureology, Redken

I have used these brands for a few years now and love them.
I get great results.

I have used Nexus, Biolage, and Paul Mitchell. They are ok at best. Nexus is better than Paul Mitchell. The stylists that I have been to don't recommend these products.

My current stylist recommended Pureology (color hair) and Alterna. I've used Alterna before and just loved it.

I don't know if there is one brand because there are different hair types. I don't think one company can be great across the board.

Best seller? I'm sure. It's probably a drug store brand, without a doubt.

edit: Salon products change fairly often. Paul Mitchell and Nexus have been around a long time and still continue to be sold in salons. (at least 30+ years)

edit again: In that case, Paul Mitchell. It is sold in probably at least 95% if not 100% of salons. I see it everywhere. It is also sold in grocery and drug stores.

edit: It could be that Paul Mitchell has a great distribution strategy. I don't think it's related to quality. I talk with stylists regularly and I'll tell them how I feel about Paul Mitchell not being very good and they agree. Not one stylist has disagreed with me. I will say that I like the price and have tried it again to see if maybe it has changed but not yet.

Like the guy above me said, get a heavily-padded bag. Carry the camera with you. Don't put it in checked luggage. When you get to the security checkpoint, ask a nearby TSA (airport security) agent if he or she would kindly hand-inspect the camera. TSA is usually willing to do this. If they make you put it in the x-ray machine, however, it will be fine. I've put a ton of stuff through the x-ray machine without issues. It shouldn't harm the camera.

Happy flying!

vicseo, did you just call your ps panasonic camera a Leica? Hmm.

Lily of the Valley
PS cameras are ok for snap shots, however it sounds like you want to be more involved in your photography. For this you need a camera with a lens mount which can accomodate all types of lenses and filters, extention tubes and maybe even bellows.

There are two types of camera that fit the above description in small format photography. First one is a rangefiner (this is what Leica is famous for) and the second type is an SLR camera. SLR's are the most popular small format camera. Nikon are the market leaders at the moment, with Canon a close second. All other manufacturers are just playing catch up. Sony are ones to watch for the future, but are still a far cry from the two I previously mentioned.

The reason I talk about market leadership is that when you buy an SLR, you are buying into a 'system'. If you buy Nikon, you buy Nikon lenses or Nikon equivelant lenses. Same with Canon, Sony et al. Nikon and Canon have the largest range of lenses and accessories available to use and in fact you can use fifty year old Nikon lenses on brand new DSLR's.

Which ever brand you decide on, I strongly recommend that you start with a prime lens. By this a mean a lens of a fixed focal length (not a zoom). I would start out with a 50mm lens. These are usually the cheapest lenses and replicate roughly the way the human eye sees things. Come to grips with the focal length, learn how it reproduces the images you take. Use it, and nothing but it for three months (depending on how often you shoot). Then change to another focal length such as a wide angle, then onto a telephoto. Another way to do this, if you do not wish to own prime lenses (perhaps your camera comes with a kit lens), is to set the zoom lens to 50mm* on the marking on the lens, and have the dicipline to keep it at that focal lenght until you have come to grips with, as described above. Do not be tempted to zoom in or out.

The problem with zoom lenses is that most people who learn with them, end up using them incorrectly. The correct way to use a zoom is to visualise the desired focal length of the image you want to take (this is something you will learn to do, especially if you use the method I described earlier), set the zoom to the desired focal length, then look through the viewfinder and frame the shot. If your subject is not big enough, then use your feet to step forward. If it is too big, then step back. Zooms are only designed to eliminate the need to carry several focal length lenses, not to just stand in one spot and zoom in or out like you would on a point and shoot camera.

So to give a recommendation, I like Nikon.

Nikon D40.

The reason I talk about market leadership is that when you buy an SLR, you are buying into a ’system’. If you buy Nikon, you buy Nikon lenses or Nikon equivelant lenses. Same with Canon, Sony et al. Nikon and Canon have the largest range of lenses and accessories available to use and in fact you can use fifty year old Nikon lenses on brand new DSLR’s.
